New Novel is a Modern Exploration of the Essence of Leadership
Author John Jones debuts in the world of literature with a thought-provoking urban parable
John Jones marks his debut in the world of literature with Captain Jack for President. In this thought-provoking urban parable, Jones invites readers to examine the essence of leadership, the dynamics of politics, the gravity of the precepts set in the U.S. Constitution and some of today’s most critical issues in light of the experiences of richly drawn characters.
The life of one man is about to change on one seemingly ordinary spring morning. Captain Jack has always been a man of integrity and honor, a man devoted to service to his community. Now, his community needs him to be a man of service for the entire nation.
In the quiet of the morning, as the locals debated politics and listened to the typical rhetoric of the incumbent and presidential contenders, a stranger to the town sat in the corner taking it all in. As the talk progressed to speculations of what life would be like under a presidency of Captain Jack, the stranger became more intrigued about who this Captain Jack character might be.
When the townsmen finally approached Jack and encouraged him to make a run for the presidency, the stranger introduced himself and joined the fray. He was Dexter Wyman, chair of the Constitution Party. Jack’s reluctant acceptance of the challenge to run under the banner of the Constitution party marked the beginning of a long, arduous race fraught with uncertainty and frustration. Tested at every turn, will Jack survive with his integrity and strength intact? Will he survive at all?
